This past weekend the kids spent the night out with their wonderful grandparents. I took advantage of having some time to myself Saturday morning and headed out bright and early to pick blueberries. I love doing this. There's just something so peaceful and rewarding about being out in the blueberry patch. The blueberries are just right for picking right now and the bushes were full of berries. I love to find the biggest and plumpest berry. As I stood there picking handfuls of blueberries I searched for the biggest ones. Then I got on my knees and went up under the bush and as I looked up I hit the jackpot! There they were, the biggest, ripest, and juiciest berries! This reminded me of my walk with Jesus. If I am standing and walking on my own each day, I know Jesus is there, but when I am on my knees looking up that is when my walk with Jesus strengthens and that is when I am fulfilled with the best fruit!
"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener." - John 15:1
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." - John 15:5

Sounds like you need to be in the business of writing devotionals!!
And, kudos to you for choosing to pick blueberries with your time off. I always seem to head to the nail salon...what's that say about me?? :)
Such a sweet reminder Melissa. Thank you for being so transparent.
