Swimming

Sissy ready for swimming lessons! Kinsley with the instructor -Ms. Marsha
Jumping in! Kinsley with the rest of the girls. Swimming like a fish! Kinsley had swimming lessons the first two weeks in July. She was in a group of four other little girls and their mommas. I love spending time with Kinsley but when it comes to being out of her comfort zone she does much better when I am away. So the first couple of days of swimming lessons were interesting when she didn't want to participate. She wouldn't jump in, she wouldn't blow bubbles, nothing. I just wanted to throw my hands up and leave her with the instructor because I knew that she would've done fine without me. I hung in there and the second week was much better than the first. I knew she could swim but was lacking the confidence, and then it all clicked for her. She was swimming with a flotation belt and I told her to swim to the side and as she let go of me, I unhooked her belt without her knowing. She did Awesome - swam to the side all on her own! When she got out of the water, I asked her where the belt was and the look of surprise on her face was priceless! I wish I had a picture of it! From that point on, she had the confidence to put it all together and swim by herself! I was so happy it clicked for her! She has been doing a great job swimming and we are so proud of her!

One of her favorite parts of swim lessons were all of the songs that the instructor sang! I have to agree, Mrs. Marshmellow was very entertaining and a lot of fun!
