Uncle Melvin

My sweet Uncle Melvin has had lots of health problems the last couple of years. He has battled aneurysms, lymphoma, skin cancer and then in September found out that he had stage 4 lung cancer.
Hospice was immediately called in and we knew his time was short.  Dad was so sweet to take Maddox and I down to see Melvin.  We saw him on Tuesday and he passed away on Sunday.
Melvin was my Grandmother's brother. My grandmother and her sister also passed away from lung cancer. Aunt Bobbie is the last sibling left and is very close to our family.
Melvin was an Incredible man that always had a story to tell and laughter to share!  I loved him dearly! My grandmother always took us down to Molena to see him and Aunt Elsie. We always had a wonderful time fishing in his lake and spending time with him and Elsie. My childhood memories always includes a trip to Molena.  In fact, I have a picture of Tieg and I on Easter when I was 8 and he was 12 in Melvin's yard.

Melvin meeting Maddox

Melvin's funeral was precious and really captured the story of his life. Melvin taught everyone around him how to Love, Laugh, Live and Leave. He was an incredible man! I'm sure I will see him again one day! For now, he is spending his days with my Granny and their sister Jimmy.

Melvin and Grayson were extremely close! The first time Grayson met Melvin, he immediately started calling him his Buddy! It was precious and those two had a connection like never before!
