Fallen Heroes Race

Amie and I raced another 5k a couple of weeks ago at Lake Lanier Islands. The race was in honor of the soldiers that we have lost from GA since 9/11. It was a really touching event and was great to be a part of. They had a bagpiper as we started the race which was really neat. The course was lined with signs with soldiers names that have passed. As we were about to finish the first mile, I looked over and saw a set of parents standing next to their sons name holding his picture. Amie and I lost it and let the tears flow as we continued on. It was a reminder of why we were running. We pressed on with the marine core marching and chanting right behind us, which was so cool!
Getting ready to go!!
Almost at the finish line . . .
We made it!!!
